FIRNREACH

Questions

FAQ

What is Firnreach?

A co-op survival tower defense. In the short daylight you mine crystals and build walls, guns and generators around your Base. Then the dark comes and waves of enemies come for it, and you hold them off together, in first person or from a top-down commander view.

How many players?

Firnreach is for 1 to 8 players: play solo, or in co-op with up to 7 friends.

How do I play with friends?

Online play goes through Steam: host a game for your friends or invite-only, and they join from an invite or your Steam friends list. LAN games work too. See the online guide.

Is there PvP?

No. Everyone is on the same team against the cold.

When does it come out, and where?

Firnreach is coming to Steam on PC. The store page and date will be announced here first.

How long is a match?

You choose. Short is about 15 minutes (12 waves), Standard about 30 (20 waves) and Long about 45 (28 waves). Endless keeps going until the Base falls, and records your best wave. Difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard, Insane) is a separate choice; see match settings.

Is there progression between matches?

Yes. Between matches you return to the Hollow, an underground street of shops. Spend the Rime Essence and Heartstone you brought back on outfits, picks, tower parts and supplies, and spend the skill points you earn by leveling up in the skill tree. Achievements add small permanent bonuses too.

Is there a tutorial?

Yes. A new profile starts with the Tutorial selected: three gentle waves that teach mining, the Base, walls, power and guns step by step. The getting started guide covers the same ground.

Where do the numbers on the wiki come from?

The wiki follows the game's own Almanac and menus, and is exported straight from the game's data for each release, so names, text and numbers match the latest released build (currently v0.0.21).
